The Exploration Team
The Exploration Team from OYM and CJUC has been exploring the possibility of amalgamating with each other since April. They are now planning to bring a recommendation to the Annual Meetings of each congregation in the New Year. CJUC will be on February 23, 2014 and OYM on March 2, 2014.
If you would like to vote on the issue of amalgamation, you must be a Member of either congregation in accordance with the United Church Manual. If you are unsure of your membership status, CJUC people can speak to H Kagawa and OYM people can speak to J Bennett.
If you would like to affirm your faith and become a member, please speak to Rev. Cindy who would be willing to hold Affirmation of Faith/Confirmation classes in January.
The choir practices Thursdays at 7:30 pm in the sanctuary. Anyone who enjoys singing is welcome to attend.
We are collecting used postage stamps for The Leprosy Mission Canada. They prefer that the stamps are cut from the envelopes leaving about a ¼ inch paper border. The stamps donated are sold by the Mission to dealers, and money raised is used to supply medicine, care and rehabilitation to people suffering from leprosy. The stamps can be left in the STAMP BOX in the church office or given to Marion Felker.
