Singing in the Spirit: An Inspirational Workshop

SUNDAY OCTOBER 26 from 2-5 pm This is a rare and joyful opportunity to nurture choir and congregational singing and discover ways to engage your neighbours through music and song. Dr. Michael Hawn is a world-renowned Professor of Church Music and Director of the Master of Sacred Music Program at Perkins School of Theology, Texas. He specializes in cross-cultural worship and enlivening congregational song. We will explore shaping our faith and relationship with God through singing; ways choirs can nurture congregational singing, and how music can serve as a venue for outreach with your neighbours of all ages. Co-sponsored by Toronto Southeast and South West Presbyteries and held at Bayview United Church. Cost is $10. Register by Oct. 21 by emailing singinginthespirit@bayviewunitedchurch.ca

Food Bank

On the first and third Sunday of each month you are invited to bring non-perishable food for the Lansing Food Bank. They especially need items for infants. They also need non-beef soup and canned black beans. Thank you for your support.

We are collecting used postage stamps for The Leprosy Mission Canada. They prefer that the stamps are cut from the envelopes leaving about a ¼ inch paper border. The stamps donated are sold by the Mission to dealers, and money raised is used to supply medicine, care and rehabilitation to people suffering from leprosy. The stamps can be left in the STAMP BOX in the church office.
